Career Counseling for Jobs in Sustainability
Portland’s sustainability job scene is both stimulating yet mind-boggling. You'll hear contradictory messages: "Green job opportunities are exploding!" "Green job opportunities are impossibly competitive!" How do you know what to believe?
Since this professional sector is new and dynamic, you'll want a career counselor who stays current in this challenging field. We guide you to choose one or two environmental niches to explore, immerse yourself in the world of sustainability, craft a basic message that explains what you're seeking and, of course, then compete for a job.
If you're thinking that this may be the ideal time to become a consultant or a start solopreneur business as a caterer, consultant, event planner, or health coach with a sustainable focus, we can also help you start a business or position yourself as a green-friendly business.
Kristin's Green Qualifications
While running Mixed Media, her marketing and branding business, Kristin has a steady track record of working with nonprofits and businesse dedicated to green living (Friends of Trees, Classique Floors, and Campbeltown Consulting, among others) and helped start two of Portland's most popular farmers markets -- Montavilla Farmers Market and Woodstock Farmers Market. Her women's magazine Nervy Girl was a leader in discussing challenging environmental issues, running in-depth articles about issues like living off the grid, GMOs, green energy, and slow food. She has a particular interest in the role of social entrepreneurship in guiding the future of the sustainability movement.
